One question. One answer.

SurfPulse helps you decide whether it’s worth driving to the beach right now. No forecasts to interpret. No social feed. No accounts.

How the score works

Each spot gets a 1–10 score combining two signals:

  • Live forecast — wave height, period, and wind direction relative to the break, pulled from Open-Meteo Marine.
  • Surfer reports — one-tap updates from people just leaving the water. Recent taps weigh more; anything older than 90 minutes stops counting.

When live reports exist, they drive 60% of the score. When the lineup is quiet, the score falls back to the forecast and we tell you it’s forecast-only.

Just paddled in? Tap Update conditions on any spot page. Two taps — how it’s breaking, how crowded. That’s it. The next surfer thanks you.

We launch with the Guanacaste corridor: Playa Grande, Tamarindo, Avellanas, Langosta, and Playa Negra. More breaks land as local crews start contributing.
